Parksville man arrested for break-in

A man has been arrested after crawling out of a truck with a smashed window.
On Aug. 31 around 6 a.m. a neighbour called police about man climbing out of a truck on Sylvan Crescent.
Police arrested the 21 year old Parksville male and charged him with possession of break in tools, mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.
The man has an undertaking to appear in court.
It is the second arrest related to vehicle break and enters in Oceanside. In mid-August, Kyle Stuart Bondarchuk, 21, was arrested and charged for numerous Criminal Code offences involving thefts from vehicles, break and enter and possession of stolen property. Police believe he was responsible for more than 50 incidents of break and enters to vehicles in Oceanside.
Cox said there have been a few arrests regarding break and enters to vehicles.
"We've noticed a little bit of a drop [in incidents],"Cox said. "We have noticed a drop in numbers."
